Married to Brian, have a 15 month old, very cute boy, named Sammy. I work as a Physician Assistant- I have always been interested in medicine- I see it as a very tangible way to be missional every day
What is your God-story or testimony?
I was raised in a Christian family and accepted Jesus at a very young age, my journey continues and my testimony is always evolving. God has been my identity, my anchor, my joy, and most of all, my peace through my parents divorce when I was 9, the death of a very close friend just after college, and in losing both of my grandparents while in grad school. Those are the trials that helped shape who I am today and what I think of when I think of my times closest to Jesus. He has been such a steady presence in the good times as well, blessing me in countless ways- in my marriage to my best friend, in the birth of my son, in friendships that are turning 23 this year, in the closeness of my family, in the opportunities I have daily to touch people’s lives and give them encouragement. Yeah, I guess you could say I am about relationships, they are what fill me up. The Lord still has to remind me daily how much he loves me- I don’t know if I will ever really be able to wrap my mind around the depth of that… and that out of that love, He wants me to be exactly who I am, being free of my own insecurities to truly love others. Still working on that daily, like I said, it is a journey and I have a long way to go. I can’t wait to see how our preparation and finally the trip to Africa will offer more color my testimony in the future.
A verse, quote, or thought you tend to “live” by.
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can” John Wesley.
What your family/friends say about you?
They probably say that I love to laugh and can find humor just about anywhere (except in my husband’s lame jokes), that I am a good listener, a loyal friend, that I find much joy in giving them stuff, and that they couldn’t live without me, of course.
What are things about you that most people don’t know?
I love to be crafty, especially with wool- I like to spin it into yarn, knit, make rugs, and have a huge weakness for just wanting it because it is soft or pretty, leaving me with a stash that is a little embarrassing in my attic that I have no plan for at all! I like to do things that are old fashioned and tend to get a little overwhelmed with my domestic side on a regular basis!
Personality?
XNFJ Equal balance between extrovert and introvert, tend to be emotional, pretty intuitive, and am task-oriented (please see previous question)
Have you lived in any unusual places?
“The Always Welcome Inn” in Baker City for 5 wks while in PA school- unfortunately this was immediately following my wedding
