I have two children: Jarett (7, 2nd grade) & Jordana (5, Kindergarten).
I was born on 7/25/66 in Seattle, WA. My loving, adoptive parents brought me home 3 weeks later. I grew up in Seattle until I was 12, then moved to Aberdeen, WA. After I graduated high school I wanted to move back to the city so I could afford Tacoma. Lived there until 1992 when I moved to Idaho. I work at Jack in the Box as a Restaurant Manager. I have worked for the Company 23 years and came to Idaho temporarily to open this market and fell in love with the Treasure Valley, got to admit- I love sage brush, sun and mountains. The only thing missing is the ocean. I love working at Jack in the Box because not one day is ever the same. I meet new people, see interesting things and being around young people keeps me young. I’m sure most people don’t think they will be a Jack in the Box manager when they grow up, but it turns out I am. It is a good living and very flexible hours so that I have been able to do many things I enjoy.
What is your God-story or testimony?
I invited Christ to be the Savior of my life in 1976 at a Billy Graham Crusade in the brand new KingDome (2nd event ever held there). In my late teens, I began to walk a path that got further and further away from God. I never stopped believing, but didn’t have a relationship with him either. Recently, as my children have begun school I began to feel restless about their spiritual education. I want them to love Jesus as I did, with childlike wonder and innocent love. This led me to Crossroads in April of this year, where I felt led to this ministry to Africa…. Did I say AFRICA? This trip is a life-changing opportunity to help these children and missionaries, but also to bring that path of mine back to the Lord of my life. Thank you Jesus for your forgiveness and grace.
Things people don’t know about you:
In the 80′s, when I was a teen, I attended well over 100 Rock concerts and boy are there stories to tell…… As I grow older, my activities changed, like now we love going to Stanley to see the majesty of the Sawtooth mountains and enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, swimming and rafting. I love to watch racing, especially NASCAR (go JR!!) and we have travelled to races in California, Vegas and Daytona Beach, FL.
More about my life: The most spiritual place I have ever been is at the Washington Coast (near Westport) on a clear night (doesn’t happen often in Washington) when the stars are bright and you lay on the sand and listen to the waves crashing in the dark. In that moment all I felt is the power of GOD.
A verse/quote/saying you tend to “live” by.
A saying I like but don’t always live by is No Pain, No Gain. I think I always understand the principle but at times try to avoid the pain and therefore miss out on the gain. It’s amazing how as you get older, you gain wisdom to recognize these behaviors in yourself and can take action to change them.
